ZARA AW13 Woman

Okay. This video is perfect. Caroline Brasch, Juliane Gruner, Julia Nobis and Ashleigh Good did a perfect job when modeling for it. The way they're running, the dramatic yet modern music, everything is just marvelous.

I don't normally blog about womenswear but I thought this season's collection is great. We've seen a lot of inspiration from big fashion houses like Céline, Balenciaga and Saint Laurent for this season. The looks are great and I personally think that plaid red jacket is fantastic, as well as the hats and the coats, they look pretty cool

I also wonder why are the models running... I mean it looks so cool, but maybe it's a resemblance for this season's dramatic weather and clothes. What do you think it may mean?

Inspired: Kris Van Assche SS14 backstage

Kris Van Assche is such a good designer, his collections won't stop surprising me. And I personally loved what he did for his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, the way he focused on simple, strong and solid colors was just great as well as the polka dots and the minimal look (I'm such a fool for minimalism, but you already know that).

Well, moving to another subject... ...I wanted to talk about how much I love these pictures, I think Dirk Alexander did such a great job when capturing the backstage moments. When I first looked at the pictures, I thought it was for a campaign or something like that, but then I realized they were just the backstage pictures! Cool no?

What do you think about Kris Van Assche SS14 collection?

Somewhere else II

Remember when I told you about my university exams? Well, last monday I had to go there again because  I had to take my drawing and design exams. Let me tell you how it went...

I woke up veryyy early (it was like 7am) I had to be there at 10am for my exam. So, I ate my breakfast and started to get ready at 8. The only problem is that I had to wait for my dad to drive me there*. I waited and waited and waited...

After half an hour, he finally arrived. And surprisingly I was 'on time'. At least that's what I thought.

But traffic is a bitch, it was like 9:57 or something by the time I arrived. Lucky for me, a friend of mine named Gabriela was waiting for me and we had to rush to get to the classroom, so I was not the only one.

This is Gabriela.

When we got there, we had to sit on the tables that were far behind at the classroom. The teacher entered and he told us to create or develop any idea we had, using the 3 basic shapes (triangle, circle and square). We had to cut the shapes with a scissor and then we had to stick them in a piece of paper.

I was like 'fuck this, what do I do now??'. I hated the fact that I had no ideas at that time. My mind was blank. I needed time to think.

I stood there for... I don't know, 10 minutes probably? just staring at the paper and all that. But at the end, I could think of something. I won't say what it was because somehow it wasn't very good. I think I failed actually.

But anyway, after that we had our drawing exam, and I had to say it went pretty well. I think it was good for almost everybody. Some people did cartoons, others did flowers, landscapes and portraits. I was very impressed by some of the work I saw back there, they were really amazing!

Maria smiling!

After our drawing exam. We were starving so we went to a small yet really nice cafeteria that's right beside the university. We ate like crazy. I mean we spent a lot taking those exams and it was already 2pm, that's the reason why we were so hungry.

When we went back, we had our objectives and expectations exam which was pretty weird actually. The teacher was very funny and made a lot of jokes. I love it when people have a good sense of humour!

Well, I guess that's it for now, It wasn't really that bad after all.

*No, I still can't drive. I mean I know how to but I still don't have my license.

PS: The illustration was inspired by De Fursac SS12 Lookbook.
PSS: It's my first time drawing on Photoshop, that's why the drawing looks  kinda weird.

Season essentials #2: The t-shirt

As you may have noticed, it's fucking hot outside. That's why we don't need more than one layer of clothing.

The most suitable -avoiding to say perfect- piece of clothing for this season (well, every season) may be the  one elegantly written on the photo, yes, the t-shirt.

Its simplicity and lightweight existence makes it comfortable yet very fresh to wear at the same time for this kind of hell-like weather that our country is going through. The t-shirt can be simple and such a plus for an outfit, you just need to know how to wear it and voilà!

I have to admit that I normally wear graphic t-shirt but lately I've been looking for something very basic/minimalistic. My friend Juan loves the one in the photograph, he says the pocket adds a really nice contrast to the outfit and it looks very nice.

What do you think? Do you like graphic t-shirts or are you looking for something simple like me?

PS: The t-shirt is made by Zara.
