On the Street... Aisha Syed.


Ahh, I'm so lucky!!

Have you heard about Aisha Syed, the super cool violinist? I'm sure you have! Well ok, if you haven't, let me tell you a bit about her...

She's a 24 year old talented violinist from my country (Dominican Republic). She has won a lot of international contests and she has performed 57 concerts in Europe and my country. That's pretty awesome, don't you think?

So, I was leaving the Biennial and when I came out, she was outside, practicing for a performance she had that night. It sounded so incredibly astonishing, it gave me goose bumps! When I asked if I could take a picture of her, she kindly said yes and was very happy.

I'm so glad I met her, she's such a nice, beautiful and talented person.

The 27th Biennial of Visual Arts



So, last Friday I went with some friends to the Museum of Modern Art to see the 27th Biennial of Visual Arts.

Let me tell you how it was...

When we arrived, the whole museum was empty. Not a single soul was there (except for another friend we met) I actually love when museums are empty, that way I can appreciate art more.

Everything was so inspiring and cool... The sculptures, the paintings, photographs. Ahh, I have to tell you something, I love going to museums. It probably sounds a bit strange for you, but I'm one of those persons, you know?


And you know what? I actually thought that some of the artwork I saw were a little creepy, others were moving and so carefully + beautifully done and others had a very great story and meaning behind them.

That's something I love about art, it allows us to tell stories, to communicate something and at the same time we can leave our own mark in the world. Lovely, isn't it?

A book I love / Los Cuadernos


Hello!

Today I want to share one of my main sources of inspiration with you. I've had this book for about a year and a half now, and I'm sure you've probably heard of it (maybe?) Well, let me tell you...

Los Cuadernos (Sketchbooks in English) by Richard Brereton, is one of the best books I've ever bought. It features a lot of artists, graphic designers and illustrators.



Every time I open it, I feel like I'm entering a wonderful world where I get lost with all the creativity and beautiful drawings that are inside. I'm not sure if you understand, it's like my mind gets refreshed somehow.
